About Pages & Numbers Viewer

Pages & Numbers Viewer is a small independent site run by Tam Vu. It does one job: opening Apple Pages, Numbers and Keynote files on computers and phones that don't have those apps, and saving them as Excel, CSV, Word or PDF, without uploading the file anywhere.

How the viewer works

• Pages, Numbers and Keynote files are zip packages of Apple's binary "IWA" data. The page unpacks them in your browser.
• Numbers spreadsheets are read with numbers-parser, an open-source library, running on your computer through Pyodide (Python in the browser).
• Pages and Keynote text is read with our own reader, based on the file structure documented by open-source projects (numbers-parser, keynote-parser) and tested against public sample documents.
• Every release is checked against a set of real files — 86 sample spreadsheets from the numbers-parser test set give exactly the same cell values as numbers-parser on a normal computer — before it goes live.
