Numbers to CSV – Export Each Table as a CSV File
CSV is the simplest way to move a table into a database, a script or another app. Open your .numbers file below, pick the table, and click CSV (this table) — or All CSVs (.zip) to get every table at once.
What the CSV contains
- Values as Numbers showed them, the same way Numbers' own CSV export works: "$1,450.00" stays "$1,450.00", dates keep their format.
- One file per table. CSV can only hold one table, so a file with several sheets or tables becomes several CSV files.
- UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows accents and symbols correctly when you double-click the file.
- Standard quoting (RFC 4180): cells with commas, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in quotes.
Need raw numbers without currency symbols? Download Excel (.xlsx) instead — it keeps the real values and the formatting separately.
Common questions
Empty rows at the bottom? Numbers tables often have unused rows. Empty rows and columns at the end of a table are left out of the CSV.
Which delimiter is used? A comma. If your Excel expects semicolons (common in Europe), open the CSV with Data › From Text/CSV and choose comma.
